Hi - I'm new to this list and live in Marin County. There are
occasionally jobs, depending upon your interest, but few fulltime
Librarian I jobs have opened up here in the last 5 years.
I researched the job market before starting my masters program two years
ago and realized that I may have to relocate, since the job market is so
competitive here.
I did go to the Seattle ALA convention last week and there are many
librarian jobs near Seattle, because of the rapid growth there.
And LA county library was also recruiting at the convention, though I
didn't talk with them.

Steve,
Always lots of jobs in public libraries!
I received an notice from Marin County recently about
an Adult Services position there.
Good luck,
Gail

year, but would like
to begin job searching before hand. In fact, it
would be wonderful to
actually have a job before moving.
I'm currently the Head of Access Services for a
private university in
Connecticut, with over three years experience in the
position. Before
that I worked for the Brooklyn Public Library system
as an Adult
Services Librarian.
Just how is the job market out in CA? Would I be
better off going back
to the public libraray areana?
Thanks for any information anyone can post.
Feel free to send it to me via e-mail, if you'd
rather not post it to
the group.
