Rob went to Heaven today...

Hello everyone from Patsy, Rob's wife. This is the saddest day of my
life. The 'love of my life', Rob, went into Cardiac Arrest at the Town
Office this morning & never responded to Ambulance workers CPR. I got
there as they got a couple of gasps from him when I called his name,
but, it was to no avail. The Doctor said the blocked artery closed off
completely & he had no chance. I feel completely lost. We were together
all the time. We laughed, we cried, we loved.
He was the kindest, gentlest, most loving person I ever knew. Please
keep me in your prayers, as I don't know how I will manage without him.
I am still in shock. I spent a couple of hours with him at the hospital.
I talked to him & hugged him, kissed him, etc. He died with a smile on
his face. Every time I looked at him, he seemed to be smiling.
One thing I do know, he is with Heavenly Father & that he was one of His
chosen children. It was an honour to have him for my husband.
I have cried so much, I feel I've cried an ocean.
My phone hasn't stopped ringing & messages can't all get on the phone.
The service tells me to delete some of them. I can't answer even 1/2 of
them, but, it helps to listen to them.
Rob was loved by everyone he met & this whole town is very sad right
now. I don't know when you will hear from me again. There's so much to
do & I don't want to do any of it, don't want to see or talk to anyone,
but, sometimes it helps when someone shows up at your door, like our
dear friend Rose of Cabot News. I was feeling so lost when she came &
brought words of comfort & we took a walk in the night air.
Thank you to all of you, who have prayed for Rob so often & helped us
through some very tough times when he was really sick, earlier this year
in that hospital in Almere.
Whenever you want to tell a story, of a brave, courageous man, remember
the name Rob Derksema. I know he is safe in the arms of Jesus & I'm sure
you understand when I say, I wish I was with him.
That man will be forever loved & missed...
