We--xo--Love--xo--Rob...

A couple of notes from some of you...

Dear Patsy,
Thank you so very much for sending out this wonderful news letter in
memory of Rob. He is missed so much by myself and so many other people.
He did a lot of wonderful things for so many people through his news
letter. He truly Blessed and touched many lives. May God Bless you for
carrying on his memory. We all loved Rob very much. And we love you too
Patsy.Take care.
Hugs, Love and Friendship Always,
Sylvia B

Thank YOU!
It's taken me this long to say Thank You! I loved Rob too! I saved all
his mails! They were always so inspirational! And today the one that
you sent, Patsy, was very inspirational too! Like Rob, I'm on
disability too.....well, I'm waiting for the appeal to go through. It's
a tough deal and I appreciate so much what he tried to do for others!
But Rob lifted my spirits and gave me something to hope for! I could
only hope to be as wonderful as he is. If good and loving thoughts give
someone wings in heaven......then your dear Rob.......has wings to soar
anywhere he wants to go and I know that he has sent special guardian
angels to watch over you and to guide you....or you wouldn't have sent
out the message from Rob that you did today.
Thank You! You've both been a blessing to me!

As promised I will add a short note here to carry on where Rob left off.
He would want that I think. It isn't easy to do, but, I'll try.
My goal here is not to degrade Bett, his late wife, just to offer the
truth as Rob was telling it & how he became more disabled over time...
Love, Patsy

Rob's own story 62
Rob's late wife, Bett, had become bedridden in his last writeup to you.
This happened 6 years into their marriage. He was a SAINT! He took care
of her, bathed her, cooked for her, cleaned the house, & massaged her
feet at night till she would fall asleep, etc. He cracked jokes to keep
her smiling (he's real good at that) & even then...her 'free'love'
habits did not change. She fought & argued until Rob could take no more
& she called her 'friend' & he would come to her. Rob sat in the kitchen
& cried. Sometimes he left the house. She didn't want him leaving the
house because she seemed to need his presence, but, didn't want his
love...so most times he had to take it. He was too much of a man, a
gentleman, to let her suffer, BECAUSE she was bedridden & she was still
his wife, even though most men would have left that bad situation. If
there came an argument with one of her 'friends' & she got upset, Rob
was the person who had to talk to that 'friend' & clear up the situation
for her, so the 'friendship' could continue for her.
In the meantime, Rob was having problems with that infection flaring up
in his hip & it was becomming more & more difficult for him to get
around without a wheelchair at all.
Yes, as he said in his last update...a very explosive situation!
Till next time...
Patsy for our beloved Rob

THE BRICK

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood
street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids
darting out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he
saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick
smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed
the Jag back to the spot where the
brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car,
grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting,
"What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you
doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost alot
of money. Why did you do it?"

The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister...please , I'm sorry but
I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded.   "I threw the brick
because no one else would stop..." With tears dripping down his face
and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car.
"It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his
wheelchair and I can't lift him up." Now sobbing, the boy asked the
stunned executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his
wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling
lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into
the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the
fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be
okay..

"Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger.

Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push his
wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home. It was a
long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but
the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the
dent there to remind him of this message:
"Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you
to get your attention!"

God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we
don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our
choice to listen or not.

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun
without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the
tears, and light for the way.

Thank you Sherry M

From Kay:)

Angels Among Us (Dad was one, still is)

I was walking home from school
on a cold winter day--
Took a shortcut through the woods
and I lost my way.

It was getting late and
I was scared and alone,
Then a kind old man took
my hand and led me home

Mama couldn't see him,
but he was standing there,
And I knew in my heart,
he was the answer to my prayer.

Oh, I believe there are angels among us,
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me
in our darkest hours

To show us how to live,
to teach us how to give,
And guide us with the light of love.

When life held troubled times
and had me down on my knees,
There's always been someone
to come along and comfort me.

A kind word from a stranger
to lend a helping hand,
A phone call from a friend
just to say, "I understand."

And ain't it kinda funny
that the dark end of the road--
Someone lights the way with
just a single ray of hope.

They wear so many faces
show up in the strangest places,
Grace us with their mercies
in our time of need.

TO GUIDE US WITH THE
LIGHT OF LOVE
