The Eldo clutch had not been feeling to good lately but I had put off doing anything for most of the summer, riding other bikes. Roy Harvey's enthusiasm for his new-to-him Eldo got me motivated to dig in. Right away, I saw the problem. No doubts about it. The rivets on the rear clutch plate were all blown out, no material on the plate at all. The front plate looks brand new. 20K on the plates and a 4mm hub. Ah, well... The job is half over. Go by MI on Tuesday for a new plate and back together it goes!
