Ted Raymond and I went to Westport and Dartmouth on Saturday. We started
on Gooseberry Neck, which was relatively quiet with respect to
butterflies. Highlights were a Cloudless Sulphur, a Broad-winged
Skipper, and two Baird's Sandpipers near the tip.
After Gooseberry we did a quick check of the Allens Pond fields and the
new, wonderful butterfly garden by the Mass Audubon headquarters.
Highlighs here were another no-stopping Cloudless Sulphur, 14 Painted
Ladies, a Silver-spotted Skipper, and 3 Broad-winged Skippers.
