New Moderator!

To those of you lucky enough to still get MassLep, I am delighted to
announce that we have a new list owner and moderator. Andrew Birch wrote
me on Saturday, and introduced himself as follows:
"I am the new Property Manager at the Boston Nature Center. After
spending hours and hours caring for the new butterfly garden at the BNC
I took some time in July to actually look at the butterlies rather than
the weeds and sprinklers and as soon as I saw my first Eastern Tailed
Blue I was hooked. I can't believe I have ignored butterlies as long as
I have. I have been birding for about 7 years and until this year there
were about four species of butterfly for me monarch, swallowtail,
mourning cloak, and other."
Andrew's inexperience with butterflies is irrelevant to moderating the
list (I started this list many years ago, the first year I started
getting interested in butterflies), but he is very knowledgeable about
how to create and run a list. Topica is clearly a disaster, and although
it's likely any server (whether paid or free) is going to have problems,
Andrew has recommended Google Groups, a group that I've been testing
myself for another list, and it looks nice and clean.
I'm going to let Andrew step in from now on to let you know what will be
happening. And I want to thank those of you who offered help in the
meantime.
My next message will be filled with Harvesters instead of list problems!
