As you might expect, I give the moving issue a lot of thought.
At the root level I'm a student. A long time ago I bought into the
idea that the reason for living is learning which, in my mind, is
directly connected with that evolutionary imperative notion. There's a
long tradition of mobile learning. Not for everyone, but definitely
for some.
To me there's nothing sweeter than the exercise of freedom - it's a
form of prayer of gratitude. One of the problems with that exercise is
that the older you get the more expensive it gets in every way
particularly with the toll it takes on your body and being.
Nevertheless, once again I find it a fascinating field test of the
subcultures that give form to our times.
One of the art forms I've explored for almost four decades is turning
neglected spaces into sanctuaries and then passing them on to people
who resonate with them. When I sense that a space is in tune I begin
thinking about moving and taking on another project.
I devote a lot of energy to the study of human nature and once I get a
good sense of a subculture I tend to look for a new one to explore.
There are plenty of constants but the variations provide mountains of
food for thought.
And Pellegrino means pilgrim which might be why so much to me seems to
point toward motion.
No motion, no music.

| | Hi Raewin and Ron and all,
Have you read Constance Classen's "Wolds of Sense"?
She's a Canadian Anthropologist and works with a group
which have been writing about anthropology of the
senses. She devotes a chapter to feral children, and
given the nature of your work, I suspect you do know
the book.
Part of my work is going in this direction now.
Ron, as much as I understand you keep on moving every
year? All the time last year when you were talking
about Petaluma I felt as it was a place you were
building to live for a long time. Good luck on this
new place and best vibes from Brazil.
best for all metapeople there

Hope the new year brings much laughter, song,
fulfillment, friendship
and peace for all Metalist people.
Ron, re the string theory and creating images that
have a
correspondence to scientific imaging, although
coming from a completely
different path. I spent the last couple of months
creating a story
around feral children and then found an almost
identical one in Greek
mythology....
best wishes

Lately PBS in the USA has broadcast some beautiful

About to end my surfing of the abyss as it looks

like the next ledge

|
sweet winter sunny

a huge backyard

only 40 minutes
