DEMOCRATIC LEADER WOOLSEY TO OFFER AMENDMENT 25 May 2005
CALLING FOR WHITE HOUSE TO SUBMIT PLAN TO LEAVE IRAQ
[From United for Peace and Justice <http://www.unitedforpeace.org>]

The House Rules Committee has just given permission for Rep. Lynne
Woolsey D-CA), the House Minority Leader, to offer an amendment tonight
(Wed., 25 May 2005) to the Defense Authorization Bill (H.R. 1815, the
National Defense Authorization Act for FY06), calling for the President
to submit a plan to Congress for the withdrawal of U.S. military forces
from Iraq.

According to Rep. Woolsey's office, the amendment will be voted on this
evening on the House floorduring debate over the Defense Authorization
Bill. If the Woolsey amendment is adopted, it will raise the level of
discussion about how to move towards total Iraqi sovereignty and U.S.
withdrawal.

Please help move this debate forward by calling your representative NOW
and urging him or her to vote "yes" on the Woolsey amendment.
