Re: PSA Nature Results
Just today (6/10) I received the results of the May PSA Nature Competition and report the following results to you:
MPC finished the 2004-2005 Interclub Competitions ranked 10th among 24 clubs. Our competition totals were as follows for each of the three PSA Nature Competitions:
October, 2004 - 70 points Feb., 05 - 60 points May, 05 - 60 points for a total of 190 points.
The top three clubs for Nature were: 1) Tri Country (NJ) with 212 points; 2) Gateway CC (Mass) 209 points; 3) Greater Lynn CC (Mass) with 205 points. MPC with its 10th place finish was just behind CamNats with 194 points. MPC also finished ahead of several other NJ clubs including - Hillcrest (172 points), Ridgewood (169 points). As you all know several of our finest photographers do not compete in PSA for various reasons - if they did no doubt in my mind that we would sweep the field!
The bottom three clubs will be moved to the B Group for next year and that includes Plainfield CC (154 points) and the top three finishers in the B Group will be moved up to the A Group for next season.
Our dues of $9 for PSA Nature are due by 10/1/05 and the first PSA Nature submissions are due 10/15 to Steve Fisher in Washington State.
As for the individual scores I will note the slide title and points - the makers know who they are. It appears to me that the judging was very tough. There were 5 Awards and 12 HMs for this competition - MPC did not receive any awards or HMs. The cut off for HMs was 13 points. Our entries were scored as follows:
Windblown Hawk on Watch - 8 pts. Killdeer on Nest - 11 pts.
Greater Scaup Pair - 8 pts Leopard in Tree - 12 pts.
Stripped Beauty - 10 pts. Togetherness Is.. - 11 pts.
I will make an effort to return your slides in the coming week. Please feel free to ask any questions as by the time we get to Sept. this will all be ancient history.
Regards - hope everyone is getting in lots of shooting time.actually no I'm not hoping that !! :O)
Bob
