List Name New York Indians (New York Indians)
Purpose: Brothertown Indians from CT, RI and Long Island, NY; Stockbridge/Munsee Indians from MA; and Ramapo and Delaware Indians from nothern NJ migrated beginning in the 1770's to upstate New York near Oneida Indians. Beginning in the 1830's, many of these Indians migrated to Shawano and Calumet Counties in WI In the 1870's, some migrated to Redwood County, MN. This list is established for communication about the history, genealogy and current activites of these Indians.
