Boy, did we luck out with excellent weather. As we turned on Crown
Valley Parkway over to PCH, we went into cloud cover that kept the temps
down for an hour or so. Dan Crain did some monster pulls taking us
through San Onofre. We blew by hundreds of riders competing in the
Triathlon on Camp Pendleton. Coming back up from Oceanside, we all did
some good pulls. Alan Ptak had a rear flat just as we were coming into
San Clemente. Dan Crain had a front flat in the houses of San Clemente.
Temps on my handlebar hovered around 77 until we turned inland then the
heat came on: Jerry Brown had 99 degrees on his handlebar when we came
in on Muirlands.
Thanks to everyone who came out – we were flying today!! It was nice to
be home by 2:30.
