Did you ever wonder why and how you encounter certain people, but not others?
Be aware, the choice is not yours:everyone you meet is carefully chosen to
interact with you within a specific space and time. All encounters are designed
in accordance with our needs which only our Higher Self is thoroughly aware
of. In the end, He is the designer, the controller and the witness.
It is important that we do not succumb when we meet someone who is, for
instance, obnoxious. This is what happened to me recently. A particular encounter
lasted about 1 hour, yet it took me over 24 hours to recover. I wonder why
it took so long to apply what I've been working on for many years.
What happened is that, I saw only the person's arrogance, and that
completely absorbed my thoughts. I became so obsessed with this person's attitude
that I got a tunnel vision and stayed in that tunnel for hours. I was mentally
paralyzed and that prevented me from asking for inner guidance.
I went home, sat down, and tried to pray, only to get up right away and ask
loudly, "What is going on?" I felt the presence of many invisible witnesses,
smiling at me. Then, I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was aware that important
events had happened in my mind during my sleep, but I do not know exactly
what they were.
I became aware that although we've the freedom to choose peace or war, the
time to choose is not up to us. First, we've to go through a war within
ourselves to learn whatever it is we are on earth to learn, and only then, the door
to peace opens up. Finally, I was able to sit down, and offer my thoughts
for correction. I was gradually relieved from whatever thoughts that were
disturbing me.
I don't think there are any books that describe the human condition better
than the Bible: wars, anger, hate, jealousy, manipulation, to name just a few.
There is an interaction and interdependence among all of us that only a great
designer can structure and organize so well.
Did Jacob, the 3rd Patriarch, who lived about 2.000 years before Christ,
ever dream that his name would be changed to Israel, and become the name of a
nation? Jacob was manipulated by his uncle, who made him work for 15 years to
be able to marry the woman he loved:Rachael. Did he ever dream that he would
be the father of 12 tribes of Israel?
Did Ruth, a poor widow, and a survivor of wars and famine, who lived about
1.200 years before Christ, ever dream of marrying a rich man and become the
great-grandmother of king David? Did she ever dream that her off-spring would
lead to the birth of the Messiah, centuries later?
Did Daniel ever dream that he would be thrown into a lions' den (539 BC) and
survive? Daniel was a prophet who served in the enemy's Court for 70 years.
He walked 500 miles from Jerusalem to Babylon as a captive, yet he never lost
faith.
Hate and jealousy of the members of king Darius' court was enough to
convince the King to throw David into the lions' den. But the power, the design,
and the determination of our Higher Self is stronger than the members of any
court; it tamed the lions, and saved Daniel's life.
The world is full of "lions," a symbol of power on earth. Fortunately, there
is a greater power within us that can tame the wildest animals we face in
this world.
We must remember that we are never alone. Our life has a purpose for which
there is a well orchestrated plan that we, together with our Higher Self, have
worked on, long, long ago.
When the time comes we'll co-exist peacefully even with the wildest animals,
and the worst humans we can think of.
