Folks,
I hope you will plan to attend this important event for cyclists in the
Cleveland area: please post the below info to your websites, distribute to
your lists, and otherwise make it known -- and watch for an announcement of
the "more generally accessible cycling event on a weekend in the near
future" that will be an opportunity to honor Sylvia's life with a call to
action for the cycling community.

Director, Ohio City Bicycle Co-op

*What:*
Invitation to the public to join a silent memorial bicycle ride in mourning,
memory, and honor of Sylvia's Bingham's
death<http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/09/yale_grad_sylvia_bingham_kille.html>,
as the result of a collision with a truck while riding her bicycle to work
on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 15 2009.
*When:*
Tuesday September 22nd, 2009
Gathering at 7:30am, ride will begin at 8am and last about 2 hours
*Where:*
Meet at Sylvia's Cleveland home at the intersection of Fairfield and West
11th in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland.
This will be a silent procession, with a police escort, beginning at her
home, and following her route to work at Hard Hatted Women, 4220 Prospect
Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44103 and then returning through Downtown and Ohio
City.
The ride will stop for a minute of reflection at the site of the collision
that caused her death, at E 21st Street and Prospect Ave. There will be
brief remarks from her friends and co-workers at Hard Hatted Women, but this
is a ride solely to honor Sylvia: plans for a more generally accessible
cycling event on a weekend in the near future will be announced at that
time.
*Details:*
All riders are requested to please wear white shirts. Helmets are required;
loaners will be available at the start.
A limited number of "I RIDE FOR SYLVIA" white Tshirts will be available at
the start for a freewill donation.
