Moving forward with its plan to secure a new Chief Executive Officer
to lead Prince George's County Public Schools, the Board of Education
announced that it has selected national search firm Ray and
Associates, Inc. to help in the search for a candidate who will be in
charge of the 17th largest school system in the nation.

PTA Leaders In Conflict

Sept. 22 Debriefing & the Board Agenda Packet for the Thursday,
October 6, 2005 Board Work Session is available from Amber A. Wilson

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Public Hearing of the Board's CIP Committee to select a name for the
"New" West Hyattsvilld Elementary School (which will be located at
6111 Ager Road, Hyattsville, Maryland 20782). The school is
scheduled for construction completion and occupany in August 2006.
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 6:30 p.m.,
at Nicholas Orem Middle School (in the Multi-Purpose Room) - 6100
Editors Park Drive, Hyattsville, Maryland 20782.
Public Participation is encouraged. All persons interested in
speaking must register with the Office of the Board of Education by
4:00 p.m. on October 25 by calling 301-952-6308.

*** Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One Shared Vision ***
Tour event in Prince George's County:
-   Sunday October 23, 2 pm
-   Greenbelt Community Church, Crescent and Hillside Roads, Greenbelt, MD
      Three women, a Christian, a Jew, and a Muslim, who are living
the realities
of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will share their experiences and hopes
for a just peace with audiences all over the United States.
      They are mothers, daughters, wives and working professionals, all involved
in their own way in resolving the conflict. Each woman lives the hardships
of conflict and the tragedy of occupation in unique ways. Each has also
witnessed the deterioration around them over the past five years of
Israeli-Palestinian violence and the intermittent attempts to rekindle peace
talks. They have made a commitment to address American audiences about
their hopes for the future and what must be done to improve today's
unsteady situation.
      These three women will travel together on a national speaking tour for two
weeks in October to address realities of the conflict.
