Hyattsville to celebrate the life of Rosa Parks, the African-American
who, in December 1955, refused to give up her seat on a bus to a

Next in the Progressive Film Series by Peace & Justice Coalition, Prince
George's County, co-sponsored by Neighbors United for Justice and Peace:
FILM: "Dance of Death: The Plight of U.S. Soldiers in Iraq" (This is a
segment from Shocking and Awful- a twelve-part study of the U.S. occupation
of Iraq from Deep Dish T.V. Network)
DETAILS: Mark Read coordinated the Dance of Death segment. In it you'll hear
young combat veterans from the ongoing war, with members of their families
speak out about how they've coped day-to-day in Iraq and why they oppose
this war. Join in a general discussion afterward- of the film, the war, and
how we might join the resistance to the continuing occupation of Iraq and to
the high-pressure military recruitment underway here at home. The discussion
will be videotaped for cablecasting on local stations.

*** NORTHERN AREA SPRING ENRICHMENT DAY CAMPS FOR KIDS ***
Spring Enrichment Day Camps for boys and girls ages 5-12 are being
offered from Monday, April 10, 2006 through Friday, April 14 to
coincide with spring vacation from the Prince George's County Board
of Education. Camps will be conducted at most Northern Area community
centers, dependent on sufficient registration, from 9 am - 4:30 pm,
with extended care available. Costs vary at each location. Call
your local community center for exact information.
A wide variety of enrichment camp themes are available including:
Green Acres Farm Camp, swimming, arts, basketball, computer, dance,
and soccer as well as general recreation camps. These camps are
designed with the goal of creating an enjoyable, safe environment
providing new skills and ideas to youth during spring vacation.
Registrations are now being accepted on a first come, first served
basis with limited space available. To register, visit your local
Northern Area community center and set up your SMARTlink family

information.
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission,
Department of Parks and Recreation encourages and supports the
