TDR bill coming up Oct. 17

I have been informed that Cb-44-2007 (the Transfer Development Rights Bill)
has been added to the Agenda for the Planning, Zoning, and Economic
Development Committee (PZED) meeting on Wednesday, October 17th at 10:00 am.
County Administration Building in Upper Marlboro (Room 2027).
The basic structure of the bill is the same as the Transfer Development
Rights Bill from last year, except that the portions that created public
opposition have been deleted (downzoning, limitations on uses, etc.)
A few amendments are already proposed to make the bill consistent with last
year's bill (that is, to fix some mistakes that I made).
I understand from speaking with some leaders in the agricultural community
that some additional amendments may be proposed. I agree with those
amendments that I have heard about.
Additional comments and potential amendments are welcome at the PZED
Committee meeting.
To be adopted this year, CB-44-2007 has to be voted out of Committee
Wednesday and introduced on Tuesday, October 23rd.
