I've loaded two excellent Writers Resources written by the authors on Makebelieve_YG into the Behind The Scenes section of the archive
"Writing Action Scenes" by Mice
http://www.squidge.org/~peja/writingtips/WritingActionScenes.htm
"Writing Action Scenes Revisited" by Caro Dee
http://www.squidge.org/~peja/writingtips/WritingActionScenesRevisited.htm
As a service to the list authors we have several other articles offering advice on various writing techniques. For those of you interested in checking these out, The Writing Tips section of the archive can be found at the bottom of the fandoms index. If you would like to contrib to the Writing tips section, simply post your tips article to the list your on and mention that its for the tips section
Now I guess its that time again as well, so here are some new challenges for ya all to pick through. As always, feel free to adapt these to your own needs. Its not necessary to stick to the time limits on the 15 minute or opening line challenge. If the words are flowing, ride 'em.
The whole idea is to make fun, right?
Today’s challenge is...
Your word for the 15 minute brainstorming challenge is ....
"Celebration"
words to be included in the improv:
Black Velvet
Golden sheen
pink rose buds
silver streaks
The Opening lines are
"I'm so tired of this....
this time I'm in the mood for a fic that uses the title...
Title: Time for Love
and finally, for those of you who crave a fleshed out honest to gawd challenge kind of thing...
ITS THANKSGIVING
So do us a holiday fic. How do your characters celebrate this holiday. DO they celebrate this holiday at all? (Not brilliant, but hey, I'm feeling a bit sleep deprived this morning, its too darn early)
You take it from there
(Note: you can alter this challenge so it fits the list, so if the challenge calls but it doesn't quite click do what ya want to make it better)
That said, remember to include the headers
title/author/email/fandom/pairing/rating/summary/notes/warnings/disclaimer/url
in your story and drabble submissions. Headers without the email and/or url will go up without them. Don't lose out on your feedback, dearhearts, or the chance to promo your site
Finally, any challenges I make on list can be forwarded to other lists, but the archive would like to have any stories that result from this included in the archive, so do ask the authors if they would, please forward stories to me at dalto-@yahoo.com or post them to one of direct submissions lists
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Makebelieve (general/hetero/slash)
http://groups/yahoo.com/group/MakebelieveJr (general/hetero)
http://lists.squidge.org/info/Makebelieve (general/hetero/slash)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MakebelieveFicOnly (general/hetero/slash)
Stories, drabbles and snippets will be posted to the archive unless you include a no archive notation. If you'd like to know when they go up, since this is going multi-list, I'll be throwing out updates on the direct submissions lists.
If you'd like to sample more plot bunnies check out our PB page

Have fun, luvs...and I'll be back to challenge you again later
