To whom it may concern,
I figure that one of my main functions in the small environment
is to free up the owners to do what they do best. I want to
collect the information they need to make their own decision.
This is done by gaining their trust in my abilities. I give
them options they can weigh before deciding on a course of
action.
When I interview for a job, one of my standard questions is:
what's your biggest area of concern. Your biggest problem.
At the dental office the quick response was: collections.
With over 1,200 statements it was overwhelming. One day
you're trying to get all the mail out, the next day you have
too many incoming phone calls to answer. Using the software
program, I discovered how to send out patient statements
one letter of the alphabet at a time to distribute the workload.
I added handwritten personal notes on statements asking if
there was a problem and to call me. (I found it impractical
to call them because so few were home in the day time.)
I cut the bad debt from $.07 to .03 in 2 yrs.
