There is a discussion forum I recently found that is a lot more focused
upon the Great Controversy/ Larger View theory of the atonement. Which
is a modified Moral Influence view as opposed to the Penal Substitution
view. Some of you may want to check it out, it is far more open then the
Conversations about God list.
You will probably see from it if you go there that I don't like some of
the GC view suppositions because they are extra Biblical. I am also
thinking of giving up the concept of Progressive Adventism as I think
the basis of the SDA church is too rooted in some traditions as are
other churches that are not compatible with what the Bible is trying to
teach us. Protestantism took a wrong turn at the reformation by making
the Penal substitutional theory of the atonement dogma and it is really
the foundation of a lot of wrong ideas about God.
