You can code the 78464 52 and the A9500. No modifier on drug codes.

Subject: [SERADlist] NM procedure not completed

A Medicare outpatient was injected with Cardiolite for a SPECT
resting/stress myocardial perfusion study in Nuc Med. Immediately after
beginning the scan for the resting portion, the patient became
claustrophobic and could not continue. No diagnostic images were
acquired. My question is, can we bill for CPT 78464 with a -52 modifier,
as well as for the single dose of sestamibi A9500? Do we put a modifier
on the sestamibi code, too?

Susan
