Make some room in your Memorial Day weekend plans.
Crank & Click
Bicycle scavenger hunt for charity
When: Saturday, May 23 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Who: anyone interested in a bicycle scavenger hunt
What: Crank & Click: St. Louis city-wide bicycle and digital camera scavenger hunt
Where: Start and end: Atomic Cowboy, 4140 Manchester, St. Louis, MO 63110
Why: Many worthy charities exist in the region. Will Cycle for Charity, a new, all-volunteer group hopes to engage the cycling community in fun, inexpensive fundraisers for some of these organizations with ongoing events.
Proceeds from this event will benefit BicycleWORKS, a local 501(c)3 organization. For more information, visit www.willcycleforcharity.com.
Details: Participants pay $10 ($1 for children age 10 and under) cash or check only.
Teams will be given a list of items around the city to take pictures of. Most items will be objects located around the city.
The teams will have 2 hours to snap photos of as many items as possible. Remember, this is a bicycle scavenger hunt. No cars allowed.
To qualify for point all photos require a team bike and at least one team member in each. Participants must provide their own cameras and bicycles. Cameras must have digital display so that pictures can be seen from them.
For families with young children, if you choose, SCOSAG will be placing items to take pictures of and interact with around Tower Grove Park. This way you can go to the park (by car if necessary) and take photos without riding on the road with your children.
