Honky the Clown a.k.a. Chris here,

So a couple of us where out drinking last night and came up with, what we
thought, would be a really great event.

We want to throw a science fair. This email is basically a feeler, we want
to know how many people would like to enter in experiments and projects so
we can gauge how long it will take to put the event together and how big of
a space we'll need.

If you or anyone else you know would like to put together a science fair
project please let us know. Forward this to your geeky friends.

So what exactly would this type of event look like? Well we don't know just
yet, we can figure the details out later. But here are some ideas we were
throwing around:

A REAL science fair.just like in grade school, we'll be defining science
sort of loosely. So everything from complex chemical reactions, to
robotics, to a moldy hotdog in a jar to study the growth of mold (don't
laugh I did that one). There will be a panel of judges walking around with
paper prize ribbons and clip boards.

We might find a way to give away real cash money for first prize.

We'll have an entire sub category for volcanoes because we know everyone
will want to do that one. Maybe we'll give away a year's supply of backing
soda and vinegar to the winner of that one.

Real live social surveys and experiments performed on the participants of
the party

Demonstrations of sciencey stuff (liquid nitrogen a marshmallow and a hammer
type stuff)

Hopefully we can get some good experimental Music (Tawny and her cool
weirdness for instance)

Dr. Mike could bring the giant operation game. Sean could bring "The Magic"
and the Laser harp.

Hopefully we can get some Tesla coils and Jacobs ladders and other
Frankensteinian knick-knacks.

And of course we would be doing toxicity experiments with beer.

You get the idea. This is all still in the very early stages, and we'll be
meeting again to discuss more and better ideas in the next couple of weeks
or so. But right now we're trying to gauge interest so we can figure out
how big of a place we'll need. So please forward this around and have people
email me honkytheclown@hotmail,com with "science fair" in the subject, so I
can start compiling a participants list.

Take care

            Honky the Clown
