Welcome to Sekhmet Rising – an Open Forum for the exploration and reclamation of Fire long lost or not yet discovered.
This space has been created as a result of the responses to the article “Sekhmet Rising: The Restlessness of Women’s Genius” which can be found at:
http://www.wel-systems.com/articles/Sekhmet.htm . Striking a chord deep in the belly of women, it reminds us of how much of who we are we have surrendered and its impact on the quality of our lives. Cultural conditioning and external expectations have taught us to be silent and be still…and be afraid of that which moves inside us and screams to get out! This space offers the opportunity to explore, rediscover, make friends with, reclaim and integrate the experience of our own Fire.
This list is open to both women and men who have a desire to move beyond culturally repetitive roles that have defined us, to discover how else we might move and co-create a different and better world. It is not about women against men, or men against women. It is about men and women discovering and claiming and engaging all aspects of who they are originally designed to be: Crucible and Spear, Nurturer and Warrior – blind to gender but open to desire, interest, intention and focus of will.
Open to all, Sekhmet Rising is a space that is intended to be an invitation to women to become present and visible in a public forum and with the result of discovering and strengthening their unique expression in the world. Although without a formal Moderator, the expectation is that those who choose to step into this process have found the gateway through their connection to the original article or to someone else who has shared this place with them. As such, there is an underlying presupposition of Self discovery, which demands exploration of self. Let all others be tasked with their own evolution without direction from the peanut gallery!
From time to time, the conversation may invite questions and/or comments from the author of the Sekhmet Rising article(s) – always in the search of her evolving Self.
