*Thought for the day: It's a wash, Stupid*
Our brainy Congressional leaders say their $1T health insurance bill is
deficit neutral. One of the things they're doing is putting a tax on medical
devices. They expect to raise $20B from hospitals and ultimately, patients.
Are they that stupid, or think we are?
If the cost of medical devices is going to be taxed 5 or 10%, patients are
going to have to pay 5 or 10% more. They are counting the tax revenue as
revenue but ignoring the expenses to the users. It's a wash, Stupid.
Q. How much will the govt skim from these additional transactions?
