SUMO #88 7th August 2004. The famous Hachioji Festa Run.

What’s summer heat? I should be ashamed of myself to have complained
about yesterday’s nice muggy afternoon in Samurai H3. There was no
escape from boiling hot and no shadowy dream on the trail on Sunday.
Well, there might be seen a mirage and heard distant sounds of Matsuri
drums and whistles that got us tripped out in the Hachioji wonderland.
Giving the hare good time, pack drifted into the sunbaked trail. Soon
after the first Checkpoint, we stumbled on the street clogged with a big
parade of the portable shrine, which embarrassed Fugu in public with
regular half-naked Hash style. We got around, fell for almost all the
CBs, and ran up and down-down stairs to stairs. The honest FRBs -
AteMyBall, CamelToe, WetMustle, PrincessBubble, and ChuckChunda might
have been up and go with their fluid gait until they saw unfamiliar
color of SOMF’s shortcut arrow suddenly appeared in the middle of trail.
Though they didn’t trust it, when at the ending, SOMF had already there
holding beer and smile. The bloody 40 degree trail was ended in 45
minutes, thanks to STIM’s well-calculated, master-hare work. With the
occasional Sumo folks like ShuckOff, SlowScrew, 4F just back from
Hawaii, we were to reach the blissful moment with our cups running over
with the cold beer until the owners of the parking lot came to warn us
to stop drinking in their property or they’d call the police!!? Hey, we
paid for it. Weren’t we quite modest than usual? Well, f**k’em!! Though
we had barely finished the downdown nomination, we cut it off and rolled
into the next onon place to party on.

Officially, it is said that some of fugitives, together with Ulysses GM,
melted away into the crowd of Hachioji festa with beery good humor. But
the truth is uncertain.
Next week run: Hashimoto, JR Yokohama line, BBQ on the trail for
STIM’s F*ckOff.
Again our Ulysses GM allowed me to occupy a little space for Hash Trash
this week. While he’s busy dating with his lovely worms, Chucky chuckles
over her imagination that it’s not too far the apprentice outstrips the
master. Hey, give me a job sometime except drinking!!
