SUMO #99.2 27th Feb, 2005 from/to Wadamachi. Hares: HeAdSHot and
CHUCKIE.
This was by far the best trail ever from Wadamachi. It led up the
hill past a temple where there was the first checkpoint near the
cemetery. The second check was at a 5-way crossroads that cleared only
to reveal a third check at Tokiwa-park. From this the on-on (after a BT
lure over a lower bridge) led off via a high foot-bridge with a
magnificent view of all Yokohama. Past the university playing fields
the trail next went past the Okuzawa bowling alley, and the hospital, to
Mitsuzawa sports ground where CHUCK-CHUNDA manned a welcome beer stop
while the hare laid a large loop around an adjacent park before leading
the pack down the hill to the river and on-home, with one or twelve CBs
and such-like to delay the FRBs.
Circle up on the riverbank and on-after party at most excellent
barbecue restaurant on the other side of the bridge. And a good time
was had by all. The on-on-on-after party was Green Sheep Irish bar in
downtown Yokohama, and the Guinness ensured sweet slumber that eve.
Total attendees numbered around 30 and we were honoured to host
distinguished GMs from Tokyo hashes: viz. CRUSADER and JELLY-MOUTH,
RAPUNZEL, SNOW-WHITE (with apologies from COKC-BAIT), NARICHI
(PICKS-UP-DRUNKS) and ATE-MY-BALLS. Heck even GYMPY turned up.
The spring weather also brought many visitors and first-timers who we
welcomed. The joyful J-T was an honoured guest from Nagoya who was
escorted on trail by late-comer MOONIE-CHAN. Other visitors were LA-LA,
a friend of HAZUKASHI's from Hawaii who distinguished (disgraced)
himself with his complete disregard of train barriers and bells, or
perhaps he was still in LaLa-Land. There was also a squadron of pilots
off the ship, pals of BUBBLE-BOY brought by ATE-A-MAME who thereafter
completely ignored them, although we hope to see you all again sometime.
BALDING manfully stood in as JM, or was he just trying to impress
MEET-MY-SISTER?
Next meet: Sunday March 27th Sumo - Rising Moon Joint Hash at Tamagawa
(Tokyu Toyoku Line). Hares: LOVE-SHAG and KHUMING-ROUGE. Start 2PM.
Oh, by the way, nearby at Futakotamagawa there is Seta-Onsen that has
a co-ed outdoor jaccuzzi on the so-called "Kanki-No-Oka (Hill Of Joy)"
with views of Mt Fuji, on a clear day. This hot spring's waters
reputedly comes from seawater that filled the ancient Tokyo Bay around
100 million years ago, and is now 1,700 meters underground. The waters
are reputedly "Effective especially for chronic female disorders and
skin diseases, as well as for weak constitutions"... See
