COME OR INVITE SOMEONE TO A SUSTAINABLE TOMPKINS "WELCOME SALON"
Sustainable Tompkins invites community members
to learn more about ways to help create a
healthier community now and in the future. The
first of a series of "Welcome Salons" will be
held 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, November 2 at the
Old Jail House Large Conference Room, 124 East
Court Street, Ithaca. The salon is open to
anyone who is interested in talking with others
about issues such as learning to consume less,
and use less energy, while having more of what
really matters in life; increasing our use of
local foods ; equitable sharing of resources;
alternatives to sprawl; and systems-level change
that can improve all our lives. Members of
Sustainable Tompkins will also help newcomers
connect with others who are working on projects
to help bring about a more sustainable community.
|
Concerned about increasing energy costs in the
winter months and how dealing effectively with
this issue could become a positive personal and
community experience? Please also join us for
the second salon in this series, which will be
held Tuesday, November 15 from 7-9 at Juna's
Café.,on the commons, upstairs.
