Actually, that's another thing that's gotten worse: it was only the
state offices that put braille on the cards, and now a lot of the state
DMV offices have been closed, and this function has been moved into
county tax collector offices. that's where I was, and they explained to
me they didn't have the equipment to produce the braille sticker; they
had never seen one before in fact.

If you want the braille sticker we may still have a state office in
town, I'm not sure, but you'd have to find it and go to it for the
renewal.

What the lady did do was to peal off the braille sticker from the old
one and stick it on the new one, but you know that often doesn't stick.

Yeah, but I was taught to use my finger, to the left of the
pen or pencil in
a vertical position; those machines don't like being touched.

I know, because Target was sued, there are supposed to be tactile
point-of-sales devices. /When I went to pay for some
purchases at Radio
Shack, theirs was broken--I guess each store business only
has to have one
of those.

My stamp won't work on the DMV thing either, so getting my
ID again could e quite interesting.

I was really surprised when they put Braille on it for me,
and I believe FCB
played a part in that.

I see, and I hate those things which are also in many
grocery stores, etc.
My sig comes out real crazy looking. All of these so called
improvements
are supposed to make it easier for the cashier.

Hi all,

recently I went to renew my state I.D. card. at the end
of the process I

had to sign my name, but not on paper, on one of these electronic
signature
pads.

the first problem was that I could not use a signature
guide or even my

finger. if I put anything near the place where you needed
to sign it

 began
to put marks into the signature space.

the second problem was that signing my name normal-size
was causing the

machine to make an illegible blob out of it; it seems that
it did not

 have
enough resolution to make a clear signature from lines
that small and

 close
together. they expected everyone to sort of write
extra-large so the

machine could make a clear copy of the signature. since I
wasn't sure

 where
I could even write, and going out of the assigned space is
usually the

problem, this was something I just couldn't manage to do.

I was wondering if anyone else had dealt with this?

thanks.

Chip
