help moderating the list

Hi all,
recently I've not had enough time to keep up with the list, and let slip
some situations where I should have sent some quiet notes to people
asking them to be more careful about what they say.
So, Jennifer Perdue has offered to be a list moderator, and help me do
this particular task. besides the need to be timely in such reminders,
it's never been a task I like to do, but it is necessary in the long
run, or the list will end up losing most of it's members if they
perceive it's turning into a free-for-all.
So, please welcome Jennifer Perdue as our volunteer moderator; she's
anxious to contribute to the smooth-running of the list, and it gives
everyone a second viewpoint should anyone think I'm being too
restrictive in what's allowed, or being too lose in allowing everyone to
say everything that they like (and I've had both comments in the last
year).
She may (I think rarely), drop a note to you from time to time about
what the list is for, and she'll copy me on such notes so we are both
consistent in what we say. you shouldn't take a reminder from her as
any sort of rebuke; it's just that, just a reminder.
