| Purpose: | List purpose: The satellite tv (TVRO) enthusiasts mailing list. Discussions cover wildfeeds, backhauls, satellite locations, dish physics, satellite launches, hardware repair, dish restoration, hardware sales and auctions,software fixes, VCII+, 4DTV, MPEG2, DVB, DSS, SCPC, tvro audio, residential CCR's (codes, covenants, and restrictions), dish politics, and what is happening in the non-US satellite scene. The moderator, Frank Kennedy, has been in the dish hobby since 1983, operated TVRO BBS's since 1984, and has moderated forums devoted to the hobby since 1992. The list is populated by some of the most experienced and educated dishheads in the Americas who can answer your questions. Novices are welcome. On topic subjects: TVRO, satellite tv, big and small dish issues. A broad range of material can be posted, as long as it helps dish owners. Off-topic subjects: Material you can't get on your dish. Material relating only to other hobbies. Rules: No flaming. No illegal posts. No ads for commercial businesses, other lists, chat areas, or web sites unless the poster is an active member of the present list and has a past record of posting non-promotional, non-hype messages. Therefore, no "hit and run" activity is allowed. List user requirements: Lurking is discouraged. The list is not just a depository for canned messages or the comments of a few thoughtful participants. When you sign up for this list you should consider posting something.
