RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK NOVEMBER 8-14

Have you ever had your day brightened by someone who let you cut in
front of them in the grocery store line? Does it make you smile when
folks hold a door open for you? Have you ever felt proud of yourself
after a small gesture such as helping a fellow passenger with their
luggage on a crowded plane? Most all of us have experienced first-hand
the power of Random Acts of Kindness.

The Random Acts of Kindness™ Foundation inspires people to practice
kindness and to “pass it on” to others. They provide free educational
and community ideas, guidance, and other resources to kindness
participants through their website at www.actsofkindness.org.

Random Acts of Kindness Week is designed to give those who are not
currently aware of Random Acts of Kindness a chance to experience the
joy of passing along kindness. The week’s purpose is to raise awareness
about kindness and to invite people to give and receive kindness daily.
Nationally recognized November 8-14th, Random Acts of Kindness Week is a
great time to actively Cultivate a Culture of Courtesy by actively and
purposefully extending kind acts to others, hopefully forming habits
which will last far beyond a particular week!

Rarely do we find a website with more valuable resources than the one at
http://www.actsofkindness.org/. From large and sweeping extensions of
compassion to small and quiet niceties, you’ll find TONS of resources
for helping spread the word about spreading kindness in your home,
school, and community!

"In the midst of global crises such as pollution, wars and famine,
kindness may too easily be dismissed as a “soft issue,” or a luxury to
be addressed after the urgent problems are solved. But kindness is the
greatest need in all those areas — kindness toward the environment,
toward other nations, toward the needs of people who are suffering.
Until we reflect basic kindness in everything we do, our political
gestures will be fleeting and fragile. Simple kindness may be the most
vital key to the riddle of how human beings can live with each other in
peace, and care properly for this planet we all share."   --Author:Bo

TEACUPS AND TWINKLE LIGHTS

One of our most popular classes over the years has been our adult course
entitled “Teacups and Twinkle Lights”. Come and enjoy a fun and
informative evening filled with creative ideas for hosting a TEAriffic
holiday celebration in your own home. We’ll share recipes, menus,
decorating ideas, tea etiquette and more! Tuesday November 30th
7:00-9:00pm. $28 includes tea, sweets, recipes, and a party favor. Cal
313-881-7511 to register.

====================================

It is our mission to Cultivate a Culture of Courtesy. Our approach to
this goal is three-fold. First, we will facilitate social events
including parent-and-child dinner parties, and sponsorship of a
nationwide tea society. Secondly, we will provide direct instruction to
children in the behaviors, skills, and values of good manners. Finally,
we will complement and complete existing Character Education initiatives
in schools by providing educators with effective teaching tools for
bringing manners into the mainstream.

==============================

LOOKING AHEAD TO 2005! Courtesy Coaching is excited to partner with
Considerate-Done: A click-to-complain website where consumers and others
can offer positive and helpful solutions for poor customer service and a
lack of courtesy in the marketplace today. More information will follow
in upcoming editions of Courtesy Coach!
