Hunger For You (Pastels) POEM FOR THE DYING
Stanley Gemmell
I am eager for death
You are gone
Words are gallows
Names are guillotine
I am a thief
My will to live is stolen
from the one you love
I pretend I am he
I bandy about the earth
Praiseworthy complexities upon my tongue
Then I come undone
There are stains on my soul
I am not worthy
My eyes fill with terror
You are gone
I do not look at anything
My life is full of glances
Nobody looks at me
Only smoking am I at peace
Elegant needle piercing vein
Only dying am I at peace
You are gone You are gone
Open veins letting music
I shudder I shake my head
I speak out loud to no one
My friends avoid me
Only birds and beasts
understand
I am mute
I am burning
with the wish
to live the past
again
I am dizzy
Mathematics are useless, faded
My muscles are clenched
I do not notice when I smile
I miss you
I am weeping
I am inside you
Inside my thought
Tears wet my face
I pray for death
I break like waves
against hope
My mind is twisted
Bent like metal wire
I pretend you love me
I see only sky
Your face are clouds
Your sex are white stars
Bleeding hope
Return to me
Now is nausea
The God is awakened,
crucified
Children carry my pieces:
slaughtered voices
I forget things
I know only to raise
the flag of hate
I love you
I am drowning
I breathe reluctantly
I love you
I forget what you look like
You look like
a white leopard
I am bleeding
I am weeping
Your love tears
at my breast
The past is my torment(or)
Image is thrust upon me
My eyes bleed the sun
Return to me my kisses
Fondlings upon your neck
Sweet as ocean breezes
Joyful sounds pounding surf
Blessings upon my delusions
At your feet I kneel
