PHOTOGRAPH FROM SHINING NUMBERED PAUSE
As sad ever as your image
in graph of leaf or bone
voiceless except for your voice
inside me
With vary colored lights
about your head
Downtilt to your face
eyes gently closed
Tall with dreaming
Lady of a lake
far from the sun
The night cusped in
moaning fugitive moon
Your shoulders like a green bronco
The slope of your chin like bull's horns
The sky torn at the nape
of your neck bleeds Saturn
My love is delirious
My love an orange fungus
My glowing screaming smiling
All quiet inferior lucid foolish treason:
singing
The time we spent together is haunted
And any who attempt to handle it
recoil, singe'd
As sad ever the smoke
rising indifferently
from precious moment burned
Searching snakes
our fingers
avoiding knowledge
Blue cubes cut from
alien marble, skin to skin,
all things forgotten, dreaming,
senseless
From your high cheekbones
Withdrawel
From lovemaking
From oblong moons
From crystal goblets
Always young
Always past
