Greetings,
Should you get the opportunity don't hesitate to get a
copy of the new book entitled African Elites in India
by Habshi Amarat. It was just published in 2006 and
focuses on the Siddis in India. The Siddis were those
Africans captured and enslaved and sent from East
Africa to India. There they converted to Islam and
became one of the remarkable chapters in Indian
history.
