Due to permit issues, the parade is now starting at 19th and Dolores and
continuing around the perimeter of the park. The parade still starts at
noon, and there will still be much merriment in the park itself
afterward, and we're still playing the after-party at teeny-tiny Amnesia
(see full details below).
THIS SAT., MAY 19
MISSION CREEK AND TEACHER WITH THE BUS PRESENTS
THE MISSION DISTRICT BRASS PARADE
COME CLOG THE STREETS OF THE MISSION WITH US!!!
The Loyd Family Players will be joining The Brass Liberation Orchestra,
The Gomorrhan Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Hot Pink Feathers, Blue Bone
Express, David Starlight, and all KINDSA freaks parading from the corner
of 19th and Dolores in San Francisco at noon and continuing on around
the perimeter of Dolores Park for an hour or two. Afterward, there will
be DJs, performances of many sripes, and general good feelings in the
park: Locally and nationally renowned visual artists will create
site-specific interactive installations for the park; MCMAF's "green"
sponsors will distribute information about sustainable living, and will
contribute snacks and refreshments; a bio-diesel bus will generate
electricity and will demonstrate the potential of alternative fuel; and
volunteer-manned recycling stations will flank park entrances.
Then, starting at 9 pm (or thereabouts), The Loyds and The Gomorrhan
Social Aid & Pleasure Club will play the after-party at Amnesia, 853
Valencia.
