Thought For Today: Waiting my turn to enter a rotary intersection, I noticed a guy drive around twice, then leave by the same road he'd entered. His vanity license plate read "GENIUS."

I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, health
Care, government health insurance, corporate America, the wars, global warming, my
Savings, Social Security, credit card debt.....and on and on
I called the Suicide Hotline.

Got a freakin' call center in Pakistan .
I told them I was suicidal.

They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.....

The four-year-old son of a nurse was called indoors to eat. Before he had time to sit down, his mother reminded him to wash his hands so that germs would not make him sick. Shuffling to the bathroom he mumbled, "Jesus and germs. Jesus and germs. That's all I ever hear about and I ain't never seen either one."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a gentleman in the hospital bed next to me. He was covered with bandages from head to toe. I said to him, "What do you do for a living?" He said, "Well, I used to be a window washer." I asked, "When did you give it up?" He replied, "Halfway down."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a potential juror in an assault-and-battery case, I was sitting in a courtroom, answering questions from both sides. The assistant district attorney asked such questions as: Had I ever been mugged? Did I know the victim or the defendant? The defense attorney took a different approach, however. "I see you are a teacher," he said. "What do you teach?" "English and theater," I responded. "I guess I better watch my grammar," the defense attorney quipped. "No," I shot back. "You better watch your acting." When the laughter in the courtroom died down, I was excused from the case.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A survey sent out to local contractors posed the question, "What motivates you to come to work every day?" One guy answered, "Probation officer."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With Bible in hand, I read to my high school religion class, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife."

"Okay," I said, "from this Scripture, what do we learn is important in marriage?"

A student blurted out, "Cleavage."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A police officer spotted a man walking backward down a street. When asked why, the man told the officer he did not want anyone sneaking up on him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last Valentine's Day, I arrived at the doctor's office where I work as a receptionist to find a mystery man pacing up and down holding a package. As I got out of the car, he declared warmly, "I have something for you." I excitedly ripped open the bundle. It was a urine sample.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many of them were obama fans.
Not really knowing what an obama fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.
The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different... again.
Little Johnny said, "Because I'm not an Obama fan."
The teacher asked, "Why aren't you a fan of Obama?" Johnny said, "Because I'm a Republican."
The teacher asked him why he's a Republican. Little Johnny answered, "Well, my Mom's a Republican and my Dad's a Republican, so I'm a Republican."
Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, "If your mom were a moron and your dad were an idiot, what would that make you?"
With a big smile, Little Johnny replied, "That would make me an Obama fan."
Capitol receives order against small Nashville label over Milsap song
Friday, September 18, 2009 – Capitol Records Nashville received a cease and desist order against BLEVE Records over the apparent use of Trace Adkins singing on a song with Ronnie Milsap.
BLEVE stopped promoting its debut single My First Ride, as a result. The song by Milsap features Capitol Records Nashville artist Adkins and was the lead single from a multi-artist compilation CD due out Nov. 1.
"Capitol Records has threatened legal action if BLEVE Records does not immediately halt any further publicity or sales of My First Ride," said BLEVE Entertainment President and CEO Mickey Milam.
Capitol had no comment on the action.
Milam, a retired Metro Nashville police officer, started the label to benefit the Fraternal Order of Police and the International Association of Firefighters' disaster relief funds aid firefighters and police officers and their families after a disaster or in times of need due to injury or death in the line of duty. The proceeds from the sale of the single and the compilation CD were slated to help replenish these funds.
"We are certainly disappointed," said Milam. "It was especially hard to get this news on the day firefighters were burying two of their own who lost their lives in the California wildfires. These funds are needed to help these and other families."
The song was originally planned as a solo song by Milsap. However, his long time friend Adkins volunteered to lend his voice, according to a statement by BLEVE. "Trace was gracious enough to sing on this song, not only as a favor to his good friend Ronnie Milsap, but also because he believes in our cause," said Milam. "I just don't understand Capitol's reaction." Milam states that Capitol Records was made aware of the duet prior to the recording and release on the single.
"BLEVE is a small, American owned independent label," said Milam, "but we represent over 625,000 IAFF and FOP members that were looking forward to hearing this song on the radio. They were excited about the fund raising possibilities of this single and the forthcoming CD. They are not happy about this recent turn of events."
Bucky Covington goes back home
Friday, September 18, 2009 – Bucky Covington is showing you can go back home again because the singer will give his first concert in Rockingham, N.C.
"When I was on American Idol the whole town pulled together - all of the business, churches - everyone. They all went above and beyond to help out and show me their support," Covingrton said. "Now it's my time to give back."
The free concert will be held Sept. 26. Covington's planned activities include taking part in the local BackPack Pals outreach program, which provides nutritional weekend meals and snacks to children whose primary source of food is the local school cafeteria. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a canned good or other non-perishable food item to help support the community's BackPack Pals program and Our Daily Bread Christian Food Ministry.
"One of the best places to play is at home," Covington said. "We've had the incredible privilege of playing shows in Europe, Alaska and all across the States, but there's nothing like going home and performing. Every time you look out at the crowd, you see people you know. And to be able to help out BackPack Pals, which is such a great organization and worthy cause, tops off this homecoming."
mumbled, "Jesus and germs. Jesus and germs. That's all I ever hear about and I
ain't never seen either one." <BR>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<BR>There was a gentleman in
the hospital bed next to me. He was covered with bandages from head to toe. I
said to him, "What do you do for a living?" He said, "Well, I used to be a
<BR>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<BR>As a potential juror in an assault-and-battery case, I
was sitting in a courtroom, answering questions from both sides. The assistant
district attorney asked such questions as: Had I ever been mugged? Did I know
the victim or the defendant? The defense attorney took a different approach,
however. "I see you are a teacher," he said. "What do you teach?" "English and
theater," I responded. "I guess I better watch my grammar," the defense attorney
quipped. "No," I shot back. "You better watch your acting." When the laughter in
the courtroom died down, I was excused from the case.
mother, and cleave to his wife."<BR><BR>"Okay," I said, "from this Scripture,
what do we learn is important in marriage?"<BR><BR>A student blurted out,
