A Kansas cyclone hit a farmhouse just before dawn one morning. It
lifted the roof off, picked up the beds, on which the farmer and his
wife slept, and set them down gently in the next county. The wife
began to cry. "Don't be scared, Mary," her husband said. "We're not
hurt." Mary continued to cry. "I'm not scared," she responded
between sobs. "I'm happy 'cause this is the first time in 14 years
we've been out together."

Two bag lady
A little old lady was walking down the street dragging two large plastic garbage bags behind her. One of the bags was ripped and every once in a while a $20 fell out onto the sidewalk.
Noticing this, a policeman stopped her, and said, "Ma'am, there are $20 bills falling out of that bag."
"Oh really? Darn it!" said the little old lady. "I'd better go back and see if I can find them. Thanks for telling me officer."
Well, now, not so fast," said the cop. Where did you get all that money? You didn't steal it, did you?"
"Oh, no, no", said the old lady. "You see, my back yard is right next to the football stadium parking lot. On game days, a lot of fans come and pee through a knot hole in the fence, right into my flower garden. It used to really tick me off. Kills the flowers, you know. Then I thought, 'why not make the best of it? So, now, on game days, I stand behind the fence by the knot hole, real quiet, with my hedge clippers.
Every time some guy sticks his thing through my fence, I surprise him, grab hold of it and say, 'O.K., buddy! Give me $20, or off it comes.'
"Well, that seems only fair," said the cop, laughing. "OK. Good luck! Oh, by the way, what's in the other bag?"
"Well, you know", said the little old lady, "not everybody pays."

Emergency
An Irishman is cleaning his rifle and accidentally shoots his wife. He immediately dials emergency.
Irishman: ''It's my wife! I've accidentally shot her, I've killed her!''
Operator: ''Please calm down sir. Can you first make sure she is actually dead!''
*click* ... *BANG*
Irishman: ''Okay, I've done that. What next?''

Seen in the parking lot of a brand new department store, painted on the
ground at a crosswalk in letters 4 feet tall: YELD
Close, but not close enough. The next week I drove through the same
parking lot and found it was changed. They had painted an I between
the existing letters. Now it read YEILD.
About two months later they finally fixed it. The old lettering was painted
over with black and freshly painted on top of that was the word STOP.

When my luggage didn't make the flight home with me, I stormed over to
the airport's customer-service counter. "Can you describe your suitcase?"
the clerk asked. "It's a navy-blue duffle bag, about 3 feet long, 14 inches wide
and 2 feet high," I said. "It has red piping around the edges, three big stars
on one side, and the words 'Atlanta Olympics' in big letters on the other
side." "Okay," she said. "And is there anything distinctive about your bag?"
I'm a traveling salesman and the lenghthy trips I make can be very lonely.
When my five-year-old daughter, Jenny gave me a little stuffed penguin
with a hand-painted sign that said, "I love my Dad!" I started carrying it
everywhere. Through the years, that penguin traveled hundreds of
thousands of miles. Once, at JFK airport in New York, a customs inspector
pulled it out of my suitcase and summed up its meaning: "That's about
the most valuable thing I've seen in all my years on the job," he said.
Thank God we don't charge tax on love."

My brother Ken was home on leave from his post in
Hawaii, when he announced that he had just been
promoted to lieutenant commander. We were all
pleased with the news, but some of us less
knowledgeable about military rankings asked Ken
to explain what the promotion meant. After several
failed attempts to get us to understand, he sighed
and said,
"Before, I was Hawkeye Pierce, and now I'm Frank Burns."
Expressions of understanding immediately lit the room.

There was a politician who refused to listen to his conscience.
He didn't want to take advice from a total stranger.
Last Call Y'ALL
I have a reputation at work for being a strict boss. One day I was
in the break room with another manager. I reached ino the
refrigerator for my lunch, which was packed in a Ace Hardware paper
bag. My co-worker stopped in mid-bite and stared at me, looking a
little tense. When I pulled my sandwich out of the bag, he sighed in
relief. "What's the matter?" I asked him. "Uh, nothing," he replied.
"I was just beginning to think you really DO eat nails for lunch."
Will try to get out 3 copies per week....Jim
