this is abo9ut thetford town meeting--we do not have an article on mandtory
labeling of geneticaloly engineered food and seed. about 90 thetford residents
signed the petition buit -some bab oluck - we diden't get all the sign-up
sheets back in time to meet the deadline. many of these people care
about this issue and will be disappointed. we do intend to bring the matter up
under New Business and the moderator expects us to do it. the motion would be
simply that the votgers of the town of thetford inform the regulatory agencies
that " we have a concern".
this town meeting will be shorter than usual. there are fewer motions on
the warning. we hope that those of us who are interested will stay for it to
come up in New Business. we also need to work on the wording of the motionand
to choose someone willing tospeak for it andexplain it I myself am not in the
position to dothis. It must be someone else and we must have others willing to
speak up in support. please call me - -one day left but if you're interested
