Mr. Page:
I am related to a town employee.
I agree that the job of selectman is long, hard and thankless, however,
blind faith and politics do not go hand in hand. Please come to the Selectboard
meetings and listen with me. I would enjoy discussing what we hear, and by
sharing differences, we may both come away with a more diverse point of view on
town business.
Ms. Cook:
It took me only two meetings to question the board about their minutes, and
not only were my concerns ignored, there was no mention of what I said in the
following weeks minutes. I'm not so sure that the notes that you take in the
meeting are the same as what we read as draft minutes the next week. I fear
that there is already some input from the board on what is released as a draft.
Mr. Barrows:
Thank you for taking the time to clarify your intentions (I hope you DO
speak for the whole board.) Your apology is appreciated (I cannot accept for
others.)
Town's People:
It's not my norm to stand up and challenge anyone, but I wanted to get my
concerns out in the open, in hopes that more people would be interested in
coming to listen to the board. The Chairman has thanked me several times for
taking an interest in the business of the town and has expressed that he wished
more people would do the same. If we can get more people to attend the
meetings, the board will have more perspectives from which to draw, and we will all
have a more informed opinion.
I hope to see all of you at the polls tomorrow, and some of you at the next
Selectboard meeting.
Respectfully.
Stephen F. Ingalls
