Selling Products on Site  Make Website Famous HoboMarketing.com
 Feb 13, 2003 22:59 PST
Hello,
A friend of mine want to sell some products
on his site.

MY ANSWER:
I do not know how many products he
has or how often he wishes to sell them.

But ebay.com is the best way to sell things.
http://www.ebay.com or
http://www.amazon.com

The best system is:

1st
HOMEPAGE as a gallery.
Ebay that promotes and sends to gallery.
Both the gallery and ebay can sell the item.
The same applies for Amazon.com
There is a cost to sell on ebay.com and
that can eat your money.

2nd Best SYSTEM
Put up a photo with anotation.
Connect paypal.com to sell it.

The second system will work if he either
has a large newsletter or lots of people on
his main page. But generally he will have very
few sales. Like maybe 1 in 6 months.
If he has a club he is part of, and they call him by telephone
all the time. And he goes to this club. He can
basically sell it offline, and they can go online
to look at the stuff to pay.
So the marketing and promotion is done offline
and the sales is online. The page processes the order.
This is the Dell.com System to sell the computer.
The page is the processor of orders.

In the end. All this has to be fun for your Dad and you, and the boy you
have in Kansas to help with maintaining page. I will tell you that a guy
in Kansas and you and your pop in Tennessee is not a promising
situation.

Emails are slow. Telephone calls can cost a lot of money. People forget
what they said in the email, and the repetition of information is
normal. 99.9 percent of all webpages are coordinated by telephone. NOT
email. I basically refuse anymore to help people make webpages by email,
unless I have been emailing them for years, and they ALWAYS reply in the
SAME day I write. There are very very very few people that reply in the
same day. I have a friend in Australia that is making webpages. He ask
me some questions over the years. He does not pay me. He started
thinking aobut this 3 years ago, and just now has a page in the last
couple of months. He is very smart, but most people do not stick with it
long enough to make money.
