I hate to join in an email frenzy these days, but this seems really
important to me right now, thanks for listening,
love,
Angela
Please listen to these voices and act now for peace:
"I cease not to advocate peace; even though unjust, it
is better than the most just war."
-- Cicero
"There never was a good war, or a bad peace."
-- Benjamin Franklin, 1783
"It has now become clear to the whole world that each
war is the creation of a preceding war and the
generator of new, present, and future wars."
-- Maxim Maximovich Litvinov, 1935
"God and the politicians willing, the United States
can declare peace upon the world and win it."
-- Ely Culbertson, 1949
"It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must
believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it.
One must work at it."
-- Eleanor Roosevelt, 1951
"Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be
achieved by understanding."
-- Albert Einstein
"Those who discovered the law of non-violence in the
midst of violence were greater geniuses than Newton."
-- Mahatma Gandhi
"When a whole nation is roaring in patriotism at the
top of its voice, I am fain to explore the cleanliness
of its hands and the purity of its heart."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which
rejects revenge, aggression and retailiation. The
foundation of such a method is love."
-- Martin Luther King, Jr., 964
"All we are saying is, give peace a chance."
-- John Lennon, 1969
Although our leaders are under tremendous pressure to act in the
aftermath of the terrible events of Sept. 11th, it's important to
let them know that we support justice, not escalating violence,
which would only play into the terrorists' hands.
I hope you'll join me in signing an online statement of support
for "Justice, not Terror" at:
