BERKELEY TAKES BRAVE STANCE ON AFGHAN BOMBING

Death threats and a nationwide boycott have ensued after the Berkeley
City Council on Oct. 16 called for "bringing the bombing [of
Afghanistan] to a conclusion as soon as possible." The council also
condemned the mass murders of Sept. 11, 2001, but that of course has
