This Thursday, June 19, 2008, Americans across the
nation will demonstrate in favor of guaranteed healthcare and in protest
of AHIP Americabs Health Insurance Plans the insurance industry lobbyists
who profit from pain. The annual convention of AHIP will be met by
thousands of protestors in San Francisco
A broad coalition in advocating for genuine healthcare reform a Medicare
for All single-payer system, such as HR 676 (Conyers) in Congress; or SB
840 (Kuehl) in California.

CNA/NNOC) are fighting
back against insurance companies that care more about profits than
people.
CNA/NNOC members, nurses, doctors, patients and Americans of every stripe
will join in a national day of protest against insurance companies June
19. In more than 15 cities from Baltimore to Pittsburgh to San Antonio,
workers will call for a quality, affordable health care system for
all.
The largest protest is expected in San Francisco, where thousands will
rally outside the annual convention of America’s Health Insurance

We have noted many times that the nation’s [3]
health care system is in
crisis. Not only are nearly 50 million people without health insurance,
but a [4]

recent study shows some 25
million people who have insurance are finding it harder and harder to pay
for it or are going without needed medical treatment because of the
costs.

2008 Health Care for America Survey, almost all (96 percent) of the
respondents who have coverage say they are worried about being able to
pay for their insurance and care. More than half say their current
coverage doesn’t cover all the care they need at a price they can
afford.

reform and the need for quality health care for all is one of the
main issues for working families in the November elections. Of the nearly
27,000 people who took the AFL-CIO/Working America survey, 79 percent say
