When giant Verizon Communications sold its Vermont landlines to tiny FairPo=
int, it left Vermonters on the information superhighway's dirt road to nowh=

But that's not all that's wrong with Verizon.=A0 In Verizon=92s Wireless di=
vision, thousands of employees want the benefits and protections of a union=
contract.=A0 Unfortunately, management has aggressively interfered in thei=
r efforts.=A0 It has used tactics like surveillance, threats and coercion -=
- even office closures -- to block attempts by workers to form a union.=A0 =
Retaliation against union supporters has led to unfair labor practice compl=
aints by the NLRB.

To stop Verizon's low-road strategy, union telephone workers are asking Ver=
izon Wireless customers to switch to a union company until Verizon drops it=
