Hello,
I am trying to setup a WebDB server on a machine behind a WAN link
(Frame Relay 128K CIR, 256K port), and through a SOCKS proxy and
a SunScreen firewall.
The Oracle server is behind the SOCKS proxy and the firewall.
I already have another WebDB server crossing the SOCKS proxy and
the SunScreen firewall without problems, but this one is local
(e.g. not behind the Frame Relay link).
With the remote webdb server, I experience very slow response times
at the browser level, but not always. Usually, I can authenticate
and use the application for a while, but later, almost all requests
take 3 to 5 minutes to be answered. The application is working okay
when accessed through the other WebDB server which doesn't cross
the WAN link.
I've activated tracing at the SQLNet level on the remote webdb server
and I've seen that when the webdb listener seems "hanged", nothing
is logged, and after a few minutes, it wakes up and logs what is
in the 1st attached file. Afterwards, it also logs an error in the
sqlnet.log file (2nd attachment). The errors are :
TNS-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination,
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error,
and TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
Are there any tips to solve this problem ? Is this related to the
slowness of the Frame Relay link (if yes, then why does it work fine
during 2 or 3 minutes before getting so slow) ? Did anyone ever build
a similar architecture ?
