Dynamic pages/Portal dimensions  mc-@hotus.com

Hi, I'm new to the list and have a couple of Portal questions.

Excuse me if I don't explain this well. I want to use dynamic pages to
mimic a menu system on our mainframe. To implement submenus, I first
wanted to set a variable and then reload the page, having it fetch the
new menu and allowing a single document to work for all. The catch is
that I can't figure out how to call a bit of <ORACLE> embedded code from
a link on the same page. Embedding it in a Javascript function and then
linking to that doesn't work, the Oracle code runs when the page gets to
that point, it isn't "escaped" by the script tags.

Alternately, I create a document with ALL the submenus in it, then use
simple HTML anchors to link between them This works perfectly EXCEPT
when I try to put this portlet in a page, the vertical size of the
portlet expands to show the entire document. So the second question is,
is there a way to constrain the vertical size of a portlet?

Thanks to anyone who can help.
