I've heard there is an Oracle bug with 8i on Pentium 4 processors.
We had a few problems with Enterprise Edition.   I believe there are patches

I tried to install Personal Oracle 8i on Win98 into my PC with the following spesification:

Pentium 4 1.7
RAM 256
60 GB IDE HDD

but it's always fail with this windows error message "Illegal operations blah blah blah.. " why?, my friend told me that this version Personal Oracle 8i does not support the PC which has P4 processor .. is it true? any idea or suggestion? TIA
