| Purpose: | Welcome to WaldorfQuest Noun: Waldorf - An educational system based on the ideas of Rudolf Steiner. Noun: Quest - A search for an alternative that meets cognitive criteria. Waldorf Quest is an exploration of alternatives to the sometimes controversial teaching methods employed in many Waldorf schools. Waldorf Quest acknowledges what is working well in Waldorf schools and identifies problem areas with the intention of improving how Waldorf schools operate and interact with their community and the world. Waldorf Quest sheds light on the myths surrounding Waldorf education by encouraging its members to share real-life experiences at their own Waldorf schools. We invite you, whether Waldorf supporter or critic, parent, teacher, administrator or student (over 18 please), to discuss openly what Waldorf education is and to help form a vision for what Waldorf education could be. This is an open discussion list - it is not a moderated list so, for the time being, there will be only two rules. 1) Please stay on topic. No political humor, no recipes, no messages from God. Fair game topics are Waldorf education, Anthroposophy, Rudolf Steiner and related subjects. 2) No ad hominem comments - please let's talk about the topics of discussion. One more thing... anonymity. It is understandable, to me, that people might wish to post messages anonymously, especially people who work at a Waldorf school. Please feel free to pick a pseudonym as necessary.
