inhaled insulin--may cause breathing difficulty  starion

Melissa,
An article about inhaled insulin was printed in our paper today & it says the effect of the inhaled insulin on lungs is not certain at this time, but it does appear to reduce lung function in some patients. I have also read that inhaled insulin is NOT recommended for asthmatics for this reason & would suspect it would not be recommended for CF patients similarly. Please discuss this with your docs.
