6 days away and the forecast is looking very nice. You will be getting a
few more emails through the week tightening up some details, so please read
the emails. If you have any specific questions, please refer to the media
guide on our website (www.wfu.edu/cycling) before asking, your answer just
might be in there. Just a few things.
1.) Registration
. We will be enforcing the NO PAY, NO RACE. We will have the
ability to give you a receipt on the spot at all registration times. A
receipt is also available for the banquet.
. Friday Night
. 7-9:30PM at the Wingate hotel (125 South Main St., Winston Salem,
NC 27101)
. If you are here on Friday, please come by and get any team
registration squared away, it will help us out.
. Saturday Morning - RR
. Registration will begin at 7AM in the parking lot as shown on the
map in the media guide in Lewisville.
. We will also be selling any leftover tickets for the banquet.
. Again, we will have the ability to give you a receipt.
. There will be NO race-day registration for the TTT. Please shoot Shawn
Kane (spk-@gmail.com) an email by Thursday with Team name, Team Category
and how many will be riding on the team.
. As a reminder, for men, you can 3 or 4 on your team and they take
the time of the 3rd rider to cross the line. For women, you can have up to
4, but the time is taken from the 2nd woman to cross the line.
. Sunday Morning - Crit
. We will have race registration for the criterium available on
Saturday afternoon at the TTT. We WILL NOT be doing race-day registration
for the collegiate criterium on Sunday morning. IF YOU ARE ONLY COMING TO
THE CRIT ON SUNDAY, YOU NEED TO SHOOT ME AN EMAIL AND LET ME KNOW AND WE
WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR REGISTRATION.
2.) Banquet
. As a reminder, the banquet is $7 for collegiate affiliated members
and coaches. Anyone else is welcome to attend, the cost is $15. Wristband
will be given out once you have paid for the banquet so we can better keep
track. If you don't have a wristband at the door, you will not be able to
get in. If you lose your wrist band, you will need to purchase another
ticket. We have a limited number of seats at the banquet hall and half are
already gone. If your team plans on attending, please shoot me an email
with the number of team members coming and if anyone non-collegiate will be
there. Don't wait until the last minute, there may not be any seats
available.
. For the menu, please refer to the media guide.
. You will be able to purchase tickets at registration on Friday
night at the Wingate hotel and Saturday morning at RR registration.
. Awards Ceremony for Saturday's races will take place at the
banquet.
. For all teams attending the banquet, you will get a FREE end of
the season recap CD.
3.) Conference Champion Awards Ceremony
. Will begin at 1:45PM behind the Targacept building at the stage.
There will be a "Donning" of the Champion Jersey and Champion Cup. If you
haven't seen the jersey or cup, you can refer to the media guide.
4.) Winston Salem Downtown Criterium (WSDC)
. For those collegiate racers that are interested in racing in the
WSDC in the afternoon, you can race for $10 if you registrar with me before
Sunday. SUNDAY YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE. If you plan on racing,
please email me (QuadJ-@aol.com) with the following race information:
. Name, address, city, state, zip, phone number, Racing team, license
number, emergency contact and number
. You will need to pay at any of the previously noted registrations
times/locations.
5.) Kids Race
. On Sunday afternoon during the public race, we will be having a
kids race and need as many riders to help the kids. They will be ranging
from 3-14. If you are interested in sticking around helping, that would be
great. Just let me know.
